Looking at the lineup of formidable talent attached to Glorious 39, you might be inclined to assume that it actually had a good script. You would, unfortunately, be quite wrong, just as you’d also be wrong if you assumed it worth the time to watch.
With a cast full of actors I absolutely adore, it’s surprising that it took me so long to see Brothers. Having not heard much about the film, I went in with fairly low expectations but found myself thoroughly engaged and well pleased by not just the performances, but the whole production.
As “must see” as it is possible to get.
While it can definitely be said that truth is often stranger than fiction, I think it’s fair enough to say that there’s a difference between the two for a reason. The Men Who Stare At Goats is supposedly based on actual events, and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it’s stranger than most of what’s coming out of mainstream Hollywood these days. The question, however, is whether being weird qualifies it for being filmed in the first place.
